How to reconstitute

STEP 1

Choose your bac water volume

More water means easier-to-measure larger volumes. 2 mL is the standard sweet spot for most 5 to 10 mg vials.

STEP 2

Inject the bac water slowly

Tilt the vial and let the water trickle down the inside wall. Never aim directly at the lyophilized powder.

STEP 3

Swirl, do not shake

Gently rotate the vial until fully dissolved. Shaking damages delicate peptide bonds.

STEP 4

Draw your dose

Use the calculated syringe reading below. Refrigerate the reconstituted vial between uses.

Reconstitution math, explained

How bacteriostatic water sets concentration, how to convert milligrams into insulin-syringe units, and how long a reconstituted vial stays usable.

What is peptide reconstitution?+

Reconstitution is the process of dissolving a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder into bacteriostatic water so it can be drawn into a syringe and dosed accurately. The amount of water you add sets the concentration, which determines how many syringe units each dose requires.

How much bacteriostatic water should I use?+

Most 5 to 10 mg vials reconstitute cleanly with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, which keeps doses easy to measure on a standard U-100 insulin syringe. More water makes small doses easier to read but uses more volume per injection. This calculator lets you test any mg and mL combination and shows the resulting syringe units instantly.

How do I convert milligrams to syringe units?+

First find the concentration: peptide mg divided by water mL gives mg per mL. Then divide your target dose by that concentration to get the volume to draw. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1.0 mL equals 100 units, so a 0.10 mL draw reads as 10 units. The calculator handles this conversion for U-100, U-40, and 1 mL syringes automatically.

How long does a reconstituted peptide last?+

Once mixed with bacteriostatic water and refrigerated, most research peptides remain stable for several weeks, often up to four to six weeks depending on the compound. Keep the vial cold, avoid freezing reconstituted solution, and never shake it, since agitation can degrade the peptide bonds.

Is this calculator medical advice?+

No. It is an educational dosing-math tool. It computes concentration and syringe units from the numbers you enter and does not recommend a dose. Verify any protocol against the compound's literature and a qualified professional before use.
