N-Acetyl Selank

Same core heptapeptide, but the N-terminus is acetylated and the C-terminus is amidated. Those two caps slow the peptidases that break down plain Selank in blood and tissue, so more intact peptide survives per dose. It is the form most nasal-spray suppliers ship. The tradeoff: essentially all published efficacy data was generated on unmodified Selank, so the benefits are inferred, not separately proven for the acetylated version.

Intranasally. It comes as a metered nasal spray, and research protocols deliver roughly 250-500mcg per session, split as 1-2 sprays per nostril, one to three times daily. Nasal delivery is the route the parent compound was studied with, chosen to route peptide toward the brain while bypassing first-pass degradation in the gut.

In Russian clinical and animal work, Selank produced anxiolytic effects on par with benzodiazepines in generalized anxiety and neurasthenia, without the sedation, cognitive fog, or dependence [1], and it improved learning and memory measures in rodents [5]. Users typically report a calm, non-drowsy focus. Keep expectations grounded: these are mostly small, older, single-region studies.

Modest and geographically narrow. The meaningful trials and mechanistic work come from Russian groups in the 2000s and 2010s, much of it in Russian-language journals and run on plain Selank [1,3,6]. There are no large Western replications and little dedicated pharmacology on the acetylated amide form specifically. Treat it as promising and low-risk in the literature, not settled science.

Unmodified Selank is degraded within minutes in plasma, which is exactly why the N-acetyl and C-terminal amide caps exist [2]. They extend how long intact peptide persists at the nasal mucosa and in circulation, though the described effects on mood and focus still play out over roughly a 30-minute to few-hour window rather than all day.

No reconstitution. It ships as a ready-to-use nasal spray solution, so there is no vial to mix and no bacteriostatic water to add. Store it refrigerated at 2-8°C, keep it out of direct light, and do not freeze it. Prime the pump before the first dose.
